Red Sox slugger David Ortiz will retire at the end of the upcoming 2016 season, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.
Ortiz will turn 40-years-old tomorrow.
"Big Papi" has been with the Red Sox since the 2003 season and has gained a reputation as one of the more clutch hitters in MLB history since that time. He has powered the Sox to three World Series titles in the past 12 years.
Ortiz belted 37 home runs this past season, his highest total since 2005.
