Patriots running back Dion Lewis will miss the remainder of the 2015 season due to a torn ACL, according to a report from The Boston Globe’s Jim McBride.

Lewis was enjoying his best season as a pro this season, his first with the Patriots, as he ran for 234 yards and two touchdowns on 49 carries. He also scored two times off the pass and had emerged as New England’s best option out of the backfield.

Lewis wowed with ankle-breaking ability right out of the gate this season as he racked up 69 yards rushing on 15 carries in an Opening Night win over the Steelers. The former Pitt star, now 25-years-old, has dealt with major injuries in the past as he broke his fibula early in his NFL career.
