Good deeds could earn Mass, RI, NH residents $200

Doug Flutie, the Boston Yeti and Keytar Bear teamed up with Eastern Bank on a mission to spread positivity.

If you walked down Dartmouth Street Thursday morning, chances are you left $5 richer.

And Doug Flutie — yes, the former NFL quarterback — might have handed it to you.

As part of its "Join Us For Good" campaign, Eastern Bank employees, with the help of Flutie and local celebrities the Boston Yeti and Keytar Bear, handed out $5 bills to passers by in hopes they would take their good fortune as inspiration to spread good deeds.

"The goal is paying it forward. Then that person pays it forward to a person and another person and another person, andall of a sudden we have this entire community that's building strength and doing good," said Quincy Miller, Eastern Bank president.
