Father drowns while swimming with his kids in a Cape Cod pond

A father drowned after swimming in a pond on Cape Cod with his two young children.

A rescue mission rushed to Joshua Pond in Osterville Monday night after the man was reported missing around 8 p.m., WBZ reports. His body was found about 45 minutes later.

The children were playing alone on the beach and told another man that they couldn’t find their father, according to the Cape Cod Times.

The rescue crew included firefighters, state police, and a search drone that flew over the pond.

The man’s identity was not yet released. The incident is under investigation by state and local police.
