Five people injured in large Boston-area road rage brawl

A large brawl broke out Sunday at a Quincy intersection as passengers in two cars began fighting after they were involved in a collision.

On Sunday morning at the corner of Farrington Street and Elmwood Avenue, two cars collided, leading to all of their occupants exiting the vehicles and fighting in the street, CBS Boston reported.

Eight people ultimately were involved in the street fight, one of which was a pregnant woman, CBS Boston stated. A nearby resident who saw the incident said that all those involved lived in the neighborhood.

“I went outside, and I think there was eight of them total in the street throwing punches at each other. One guy had a bloody nose,” resident Keith Anderson told WHDH. “I’ve been here 14 years, and it’s the first time anything like that has happened.”

The five people who were injured in the brawl were taken to an area hospital, according to CBS Boston, which added that the pregnant woman was one of those taken for medical treatment.

Anderson said he believed that speeding and the problem of people running stop signs in the neighborhood may have contributed to this incident, WHDH added.

“I can understand – I get annoyed at how people drive, but you don’t have tobe punching people over stuff like that,” Anderson was quoted by WHDH.
