Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will play against Houston Sunday (8:30 p.m., NBC) after suffering a bone bruise and sprain of his right knee two week ago against Denver.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Diann Russini were first to report the news on Gronkowski.

Gronkowski, widely considered the best tight end in the NFL today, has 57 receptions for 931 yards and nine touchdowns in 11 games played this season.

His presence will surely free up some space for the likes of Brandon LaFell and Danny Amendola, who were blanketed last week by Philadelphia in a stunning home loss.
