Earlier this week, we chatted with Zach Neil, who will bring Stay Classy, a Will Ferrell-themed pop-up to Boston next month. The temporary bar and eatery is the second in a series of temporary concepts stemming from the original Stay Classy, that spent a year in operation in New York under Neil and his partner, Brian Link. (They also own and operate the Tim Burton-themed Beetle House NYC.) The duo brought the bar to L.A. late last year and announced this week that they'll open a 300-capacity pop-up at Umbria (295 Franklin St.) from April 14-23.
Unlike its predecessors, the Boston edition of Stay Classy will team up with an area chef for a full-service food menu which focuses on burgers — naturally named for some of Ferrell's best quotables.
"We just put the finishing touches [on the menu] in the last couple of days," explains Neil. "By this weekend, we'll have all the additional information coming out."
The restaurant — which is set to feature a full "Anchorman"-inspired news set, a Ron Burgundy impersonator and "Elf"-themed dance parties — will kick off April 14, and is already taking reservations for their Boston run on Stay Classy's Facebook page.
"We’re trying to make the experience a whole bunch of one-liners," says Neil. "Actually, we made a whole business out of 20 one-liners."
