What your ‘I Voted’ sticker can get you

Besides a smugly stellar Instagram (and of course, the pride of doing your civic duty), wearing your “I Voted” sticker has been proven to inspire (and maybe guilt — just a little) your peers to vote, as well. Plus, it could snag you some perks on Nov. 8th. Here are four.

ZipCar will be giving members access to afree ride on Election Day when they register to reserve ahead of time with their #DRIVEtheVOTE promotion. The company reasons that some voters might need to rush to the polls after work — thus access to a free ride from 6 to 10 p.m. would be much appreciated. (It is.) No need to show proof of your voting — but theoretically, as the offerings are limited to “select Sweet Deal“ rides, the promotion is best offered to those hoping to promote democracy.

Brass Union is partnering with Captain Morgan to soothe your election woes that evening, with three rum-based cocktails (Bye Obama, Air Force Rum, and Running Mate). Wearing your “I Voted” sticker gets you an additional special gift from the Captain himself. Guests are asked to cast one more ballot for their fave of the three specialty cocktails of the night — with three winning votes snagging a gift basket of boozy proportions to drown out the rest of the night.

Shake Shack is handing out a scoop of custard with proof that you voted (you can also just mention the promo, but that’s not really fair to anyone) at all five of their Boston area locations. On the menu this week? Pretzel-dential Caramel. Pretty sweet.

Craigie on Main is playing host to area bartenders — Jared Sadoian from the Hawthorne, Will Isaza from Tiger Mama, Sam Treadway of Backbar and their own Rob Ficks – to create past president-inspired cocktails. Attendees can vote for their fave, and anyone still wearing an “I Voted” sticker has the opportunity to snag a special prize.
