A fire that broke out early Monday morning in Gloucester has taken the life of one man, CBS Boston reported.

When firefighters arrived at the scene around 3:40 a.m. at East Main and Hammond streets, flames were reportedly blooming out of the second floor windows.

Firefighters reportedly attempted to make it to the second floor, but the flames were too intense.

The body of a man was later found in the building. His identity has not been released, and the fire that presumably took his life is under investigation.
