Dorchester native and Hollywood A-Lister Mark Wahlberg is slated to produce a film about the Boston Marathon bombings for CBS films, according to multiple media outlets.
Variety reports that the film is currently titled “Patriots’ Day” and will be based the account of former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis. There is no director or actor attached to the film yet, according to Variety.
Another movie based on the marathon bombings, titled “Boston Strong.” is already in the works. Hollywood Reporter reported late last month that Joshua Zetumer, who most recently wrote the reboot of RoboCop, will write the screenplay for that film, which is based on a book of the same name written by Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge.
