A corrections officer at MCI-Bridgewater was arrested late Tuesday afternoon after state police caught him attempting to sell heroin in an undercover operation.
Stephen Lebreux, 40, a resident of Swansea, was arrested in Somerset after 4 p.m. on Tuesday following a weeks-long investigation, Massachusetts State Police reported. He was arrested when he arrived to sell heroin to an undercover officer. RELATED: Maine governor: Heroin dealers impregnate ‘young white’ girls An undercover state trooper had previously made several heroin buys from Lebreux while Lebreux was off-duty from his officer duties at the prison, the state police added.
Authorities charged Lebreux with heroin trafficking, Boston.com stated in a related report, adding that he is expected to be arraigned at Fall River District Court on Wednesday.
