Boston’s Keytar Bear was busking in the Big Apple this week, where he earned a new fan: Mick Jagger.
The Rolling Stones front man happened to be walking by the Boston-bred bear when a familiar riff hit his ears: “Start me up.”
Jagger whipped out his camera and recorded about 30 seconds of the cover, posting it to Facebook with the caption, “Seen on the New York City sidewalk, a cuddly cover of Start Me Up.”

The Keytar Bear can usually be found jamming in Davis Square in Somerville or in any of the city’s subway stops. He’ll be back in the 617 by Nov. 10 for a performance at the HubNob fundraiser for Boston Centers for Youth and Families, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at House of Blues Boston.
