Mystery man found dead in Chelsea identified: DA

Mystery man found dead in Chelsea identified: DA

The man found on Cottage Street this Sunday has been identified as a Chelsea resident, the Suffolk County district attorney’s office reported.

Alex Perez, 34, also known as Alex Perez-Lapop, was found unresponsive by police at 83 Cottage St. around 5 a.m. Sunday. He was taken to Whidden Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Perez’s body reportedly showed no signs of trauma but an autopsy has been ordered.
