A fire in aNewbury Street brownstone Sunday night caused an estimated $900,000 in damage, according to the Boston Fire Department.
The department responded to a fire at 6:18 p.m. Sunday at 228 Newbury St. The fire began on the first floor of the four-story brownstone and the flames spread to the second floor, officials said.

The basement level of the the building is a restaurant and the first floor an art gallery. The second, third and fourth floors are residential with six apartments in total.
Firefighters were able to put out the two-alarm blaze. No injuries were reported.
The fire department is still investigating the cause of the fire.
