It took a week into the official start of the 2016 NFL season, but the Patriots are finally making some big-time moves.
Tuesday night they signed former Rams defensive end Chris Long and Wednesday night they traded away a reported fourth round pick (according to CSNNE's Tom Curran) in exchange for Bears tight end Martellus Bennett and a sixth round pick.
The Patriots instantly have the best tight end duo in the league with Bennett now on board and Rob Gronkowski in his prime. Bennett has played for the Cowboys, Giants and Bears and has 23 career touchdown grabs. He gives Tom Brady another top red zone option.
The 29-year-old Bennett had 90 catches just two years ago with Chicago.
