A man in his early 30s was killed Thursday in an early morning shooting in Roxbury, police said.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots in the area of 56 Holworthy St. – which is surrounded by several schools, the closest of which the Trotter Elementary School– at around 4:40 a.m., police said.

The victim located at the scene suffered gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead, according to police. He has not been identified.
The incident is under investigation, police said.
