A Roxbury teenager was shot just a short walk from Boston Police headquarters on Friday.

The victim in the afternoon shooting has been identified as 17-year-old D’Andre King-Settles.

Officers found him suffering from gunshot wounds in the area of 60 Annunciation Road around 4 p.m. and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a police report.

Police are asking those with information about the shooting to contact homicide detectives at (617) 343-4470, call in an anonymous tip at 1-800-494-TIPS or text a tip to 27463.

The Boston Globe reported that King-Settles older brother, Richard T. King Jr., was also the victim of violence. He was stabbed to death in 2011, according to the newspaper.
