A man turned himself in to Revere Police on Monday in connection to two recent car chases and a syringe assault on an officer nearly two weeks ago.

Michael Gouthro surrendered to authorities and is expected to be arraigned at Chelsea District Court on Monday on accusations stemming from allegedly stabbing an officer with a syringe then fleeing law enforcement, WHDH reported.

Police believe Gouthro and an accomplice, Jacqueline Murphy of Revere, have been involved in two recent car chases: the one two weeks ago involving the syringe stabbing and a more recent chase last Tuesday that ended with Murphy’s arrest and Gouthro’s escape on foot, Fox stated.

That more recent chase ended in a head-on crash in Saugus, after which authorities found Murphy still in the vehicle, according to WHDH.

Gouthro has been moved to a local hospital under police guard, WHDH added.
