Make It New — Thursdays at Middlesex Lounge

Thursday is the new Friday like Tuesday is the new Thursday like … what are days of the week? Who knows? Middlesex brings in a trifecta of dream DJs for this long-running Thursday dance party — they’ll even celebrate their 12-year anniversary this week with Andrew Weatherill. On Oct. 27, Miami dance purveyors Safe will duke it out Make It New DJs, while on Nov. 3, Chicago dance night legend the Black Madonna will get a five-hour set all to her glorious self. 9 p.m., 315 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, cost TBA, 21+.

Boyfriends — Every third Friday at Bella Luna and Milky Way Lounge

LGBT partygoers (and pals) can gets down to top 40 pop anthems for the Snapchat generation at this monthly dance party. This month’s celebrates local diva (and Northeastern grad) JoJo’s new album, “Mad Love,” so expect to hear “F— Apologies” on repeat. Resident DJ Brent Covington and VJ James Babu will curate the evening’s AV entertainment. Oct. 21 at 10 p.m., 284 Amory St., Jamaica Plain, $5 cover, 21+

Dance Yourself Clean — Middle East Downstairs

In the midst of a national fall sweep, the LCD Soundsystem-named dance night hits Cambridge just in time for Halloween, making us the spookiest stop of them all. (Except Brooklyn, which gets its night Oct. 29, but them’s the breaks.) Produced by Lights and Music Collective, the night’s playlist boasts Chromeo, Charlie XCS, Chvrches, Blood Orange and everyone else you’ve been meaning to listen to since college.
