Three dead, three injured in violent night in Roxbury and Mattapan

Three people are dead and three were injured in Roxbury and Mattapan after several barrages of bullets rang out Wednesday evening.

Boston Police headed over to Ernst Street in Roxbury at about 10:15 p.m. for a report of gunshots. They found two men in their 20’s suffering from bullet wounds. One was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the other went to Boston Medical Center. Neither survived the night.

Ten minutes after the Ernst Street call, police rolled into Hosmer Street in Mattapan responding to a report of several people shot. On arrival, they found three men suffering from gunshot wounds. One was dead on the scene, while two others were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

It is unclear whether the two instances are connected.

Three hours later, a man on Bragdon Street told police that he was involved in the Ernst Street shooting and was suffering from a gunshot wound as well. He was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries
