Wet weather could be on tap for marathon Monday

State details safety procedures for this year’s marathon

Rain could mar marathon Monday, according to local forecasts.

The National Weather Service predicts rain Monday, sometime after noon with patchy fog settling in the area after 2 p.m. The high will be near 47, according to the service, and winds coming out of the east will be between 11 and 16 miles per hour, increasing to 18 to 23 miles per hour in the afternoon, with gusts reaching as high as 34 miles per hour.

Chance of precipitation is 90 percent, according to the National Weather Service. Rainfall could total between a quarter and a half inch.

Showers are expected to continue into Monday night, with a thunder storm possibly roiling the region sometime before 3 a.m., followed by more showers.
