Worcester Police are asking for the public’s help to find a man they say dragged a woman with his pickup truck early Saturday morning in Worcester.

Authorities said the victim was talking to the drier of the black pickup truck in the parking lot of a BP gas station on Chandler Street, when the driver suddenly took off with the woman holding onto the driver’s side window.

The truck continued traveling up High Street, at which point the woman fell off the car into the middle of the road.

Officers arrived at the scene to find the woman still in the road, suffering from a broken ankle, collapsed lung and minor brain bleeding.

She is currently in stable condition, police said.

The department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit and Worcester police Crime Scene Unit were on hand to collect photos, and investigators were able to find some surveillance footage of the vehicle.

There was no further information about the suspect immediately available.
