Ice itself provides the inspiration for contemporary comfort at Blade Condos.
Located in downtown Brampton, conveniently nearby the Brampton GO station, Blade Condos’ model suite showcases a modern, upbeat design meant to elicit the best merging of contemporary cleanliness with fresh comfort.
Designer Flora Di Menna used neutral, calming tones throughout the suite punched up with subtle bright flashes of colour to make the space feel exciting without being too dramatic.
Glass features prominently throughout the two-bedroom, 945-sq.ft. suite, particularly in the living and dining areas in elements like the glass dining table, overhead lamp, side table, thin silver coffee table and wall-mounted mirror plates. The multitude of reflective surfaces creates a wealth of light that gives life to the space.
“We kept things clean, airy and light. I wanted everything to feel bright and refreshing. It’s contemporary yet still with a little spark,” Di Menna said.
The use of reflective surfaces and colours also played into the overall design by mimicking the lustrous quality of another of Di Menna’s inspirations: Ice. Di Menna says she conspicuously set out to have the model suite match the tone and feel of a freshly surfaced hockey rink.
“We did the shapes and designs and colours to maintain the mood and environment of a skating rink. All the circular shapes throughout the suite pick up on that hockey puck theme — it’s sporty contemporary for the sports-minded,” Di Menna said.
