Brian Williams will be briefly stepping down from his post as “NBC Nightly News” anchor, saying he has”decided to take myself off of my daily broadcast for the next several days” over questions of his claims about having been under fire in Iraq. Questions have swirled recently over what he claimed happened during a mission in Iraq in 2003.
“It has become painfully apparent to me that I am presently too much a part of the news, due to my actions,” Williams says.
“Dateline” anchor Lester Holt will fill in for Williams.
