British fashion gold in NYC

Topshop

Topshop’s on-trend yet affordable clothing is a NYC favorite. The Soho store opened in 2009, while its U.K. predecessor dates back to 1964. And this month it was announced that the fast-fashion chain will be sold in Nordstrom stores starting in September. Go team fashion!

Reiss

This brand is a favorite of Kate Middleton’s — the princess donned dresses from the British brand in both her official engagement photos and when she met the Obamas. But don’t be fooled by its royal customer — the clothes are priced for everyday princesses, too.

Ben Sherman

Ben Sherman has been pushing the limits in the British fashion industry since 1963, when it created colorful, slim-fitting button down shirts for men that would one day make a name for the brand. Now, when you want your boy to look presentable for, say, a meet-the-parents date, we suggest you slip him into a Ben Sherman kit.

Vivienne Westwood

We can thank Westwood for bringing punk and edge into the fashion world (not to mention our beloved Pirate Boots). The fashion icon began her career selling homemade jewelry in London’s Portobello Market. Fast-forward to “Sex and the City’s” Carrie Bradshaw getting ready for her big day in a Westwood-designed wedding gown. Well played.
