A Monday night assault in the Bronx ended with one man dead and another arrested after he allegedly killed an attacker who had assaulted his wife.
Around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, police arrived at 1240 Washington Ave. in the Bronx, where they found an unconscious man, 43-year-old Earl Nash, with severe head and body trauma, police reported.
Nash had allegedly entered a residence illegally and attacked a woman, 51, whom he struck before forcibly removing her clothes. The victim was able to break free and call her husband, 61-year-old Mamadou Diallo, who was just outside their building, police said.
When Diallo arrived upstairs, he encountered Nash in a hallway where he beat him to the point that Nash was taken to Lincoln Hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to authorities.
Diallo was subsequently charged with manslaughter in connection to Nash’s death.
