Bushwick’s House of Yes is known for themed parties always mixed with an element of whimsical circus performance. Saturday called for a Royal Ball at the magically transformed Kingdom of Yes that channeled knights, princesses and their ilk from the Baroque-Renaissance period.

The evening was all about the themes of decadence and extravagance. Guests sporting crowns, tiaras, armor, ball gowns, loads of sequins and British courtroom wigs partied well into the night, dancing to DJ sets from PillowTalk, Noor and Erika Mysti spinning in the backdrop of a castle installation glowing with neon light displays.

The stage was later taken over by two Rapunzel-esque braided princesses performing acrobatic aerial swinging high above the castle walls, while bubbles floated around the dancing crowd. Throughout the night, there was also pole dancing, character performances and fruit platters when people got too hot under their powdered wigs.

Those without costumes could get a royal bedazzling with glittery makeup at a beauty parlor in the venue’s outdoor area, which also has a bar and hot tub. And tucked away in the backyard was a mini disco room with a dominatrix act featuring live spanking in the “dungeon of despair” — we can imagine people having their own personal renaissance in there.

Themed parties are the norm at House of Yes. Catch the next one, the Halloween-on-Spring-Break Zombie Vampire Beach Party, on Oct. 27.
