Brooklyn serial rapist sentenced to 100 years in prison

A Brooklyn man has been sentenced to 100 years in prison after being convicted of raping four women in one week, prosecutors said. One of the victims was 15 years old.
Additionally, Dexter Bell, 26,was also convicted of raping a 17-year-old girl in 2008 and sexually assaulting a corrections officer earlier this year, the New York Post reported.
“This serial rapist, who committed four rapes within one week, including one of a 15-year-old girl, is a sadistic and violent sexual predator who is simply not fit to walk the streets ever again. That’s why he must spend the rest of his life behind bars,” District Attorney Ken Thompson said in a statement.
Bell carried out his four rapes in Crown Heights, starting on April 4, 2013, by approaching each victim to talk to them before pulling them into stairways and alleys to beat and rape them, prosecutors said.
At his sentencing a statement addressed to Bell from the youngest victim was read, the New York Post stated.
“I’m glad that you got caught because I don’t want this to happen to any other females,” she wrote. “I would never want any other females to have to go through what I went through. I was only 15 years old. Why would you do that to me? How would you feel if someone did this to you? How would you want someone to treat your mother, sister, or your daughter?”
Bell was finally caught after an anonymous tipster told the police his name and address.
