Brother of accused slams media over published photos of wife’s homicide

The brother of a man accused of brutally killing the brother’s wife has blasted the media for its coverage of the man’s trial.

Michael Butler said in a letter to media outlets — including Metro — that it has “overstepped the bounds of basic human decency” by choosing to publish photos of the crime scene in newspapers and websites.

“Your decision has caused further, unnecessary shock and devastation to my family and friends,” said Butler.

“Through the trial we will all be forced to relive the grisly details of the last moments of my wife’s life. Your callous editorial decisions have made this experience almost unbearable.”

Photos of the crime scene haven’t been published in Metro or its website.
