Brrrrrr! It’s really cold!

With temperatures set to dip well below zero across the state last night, Gov. Deval Patrick issued a cold-weather advisory yesterday.

As temperatures were the coldest the state has seen in six years, Patrick urged residents to stay indoors, check on elderly neighbors and use the state’s 2-1-1 line to find shelter locations.

Boston’s low was expected to hit minus-6 with the high only expected to hit 5 to 7 degrees.
