Bruins star involved in fight with girlfriend

Boston Bruins star Milan Lucic was involved in a fight with his girlfriend that led to a police response early yesterday morning.

Police responded to Commercial Street in the North End for an assault and battery in progress just before 1:30 a.m., according to a police report.

A dispatcher informed responding officers that a white man wearing a black T-shirt with the number 22 on the back was assaulting a female.

When officers arrived patrons of the Four Winds Bar and Grill said that a woman ran up Fleet Street crying with a man following her.

They found the man who told them his girlfriend was upstairs and stated “We had an argument. We’re fine. Why are you here at my house,” according to the report.

Police said in their report that the man appeared “highly intoxicated and hostile.”

Witnesses at the bar told police they saw Lucic yelling at the woman during a verbal fight, but none of them saw him hit her.

The woman told police she was not touched.

Boston Police would not confirm the identities of the people involved, but the Herald first reported today that it was Lucic.

Calls placed to the Boston Bruins and Lucic’s representative were not immediately returned.
