Bruins unveil 68-foot hockey stick at Warrior Ice Arena (PHOTOS)

A 68-foot tall replica of a hockey stick was unveiled outside of the Boston Bruins training and practice facility on Thursday morning.

The stick, a giant-sized version of a Warrior Alpha QX hockey stick, will be displayed at the Warrior Ice Arena, the practice facility build last year at the New Balance headquarters in Brighton.

Spectators young and old flocked to the Warrior Ice Arena on Thursday for the unveiling event, which included food trucks, lawn games and the chance for fans to skate on the Bruins practice ice while testing out real versions of same hockey stick as the 68-foot tall model.

NHL players mingled among the fans, including Jayson Megna of the Vancouver Canucks, Miles Wood of the New Jersey Devils, Brian Dumoulin of the Pittsburgh Penguin, Mark Fayne of the Edmonton Oilers and Bruins David Backes and Noel Acciari.

The larger than life hockey stick will be visible from the Massachusetts Turnpike.
