The awful story of Bryan Stow — the San Francisco Giants fan brutally beaten at Dodger Stadium on Opening Day — is still in the news.
The drama made its way back into the headlines in recent days when the
one-time prime suspect was exonerated and two more were charged. Stow,
42, also reportedly opened his eyes in the hospital.

– On Friday, Stow “opened his eyes, tried to give a thumb’s up with his right hand and even mouthed his last name,” according to online reports citing his family’s website.
– Meanwhile, one-time prime suspect Giovanni Ramirez has been officially exonerated of the crime. He was never charged. The Los Angeles Times reported the case against him “hinged entirely on eyewitness identifications and circumstantial evidence.”
– Two new suspects have been arrested. The charges against Louie Sanchez, 29, and Marvin Norwood, 30, were announced Friday. They include counts of mayhem, assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury and battery with serious bodily injury. All are felonies.
– A motion filed by prosecutors alleges that Sanchez told witnesses not to speak about the crime, the Los Angeles Times reported today.
– Today, the Associated Press reported detectives believe Sanchez and Norwood assaulted other Giants fans the day Stow was beaten.
