One day after the President’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon exited the White House, Trump took to Twitter to bid him adieu, thanking him for his assistance during his run against Hillary Clinton.

Trump expressed gratitude for Bannon in a tweet this morning, stating, “I want to thank Steve Bannon for his service. He came to the campaign during my run against Crooked Hillary Clinton – it was great! Thanks S”.

In a revealing interview, Bannon said the presidency had changed. “The Trump presidency that we fought for, and won, is over,” Bannon told the Weekly Standard on Friday. “We still have a huge movement, and we will make something of this Trump presidency. But that presidency is over. It’ll be something else. And there’ll be all kinds of fights, and there’ll be good days and bad days, but that presidency is over.”

Bannon’s departure may not come as a shock to all, being one of many staff shake-ups to happen in recent months. Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders implied the decision was influenced by the chief of staff, stating, “White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and Steve Bannon have mutually agreed today would be Steve’s last day.”
