The taxi driver accused of raping a woman has an unusual defense: He
often has sex with prostitutes in his cab and that’s how his DNA got
inside a woman accusing him of rape.
That’s what Gurmeet Singh told police when he was arrested, according to the New York Daily News.
“I did not rape anybody,” said Singh, 40, a father of two. “Sometimes I pick up women, call girls, off the street and have sex with them.”
Singh is accused of raping a woman he picked up in Williamsburg in May. The woman said she asked him to drive her to Manhattan, but he instead allegedly tied her up and raped her, before kicking her out of the cab.
Police said they matched Singh’s DNA to male DNA found inside her, according to reports.
