Calgary cops crack down on street-level prostitution

Street-level prostitution in Calgary took a significant blow yesterday as Vice Units from the Calgary Police Service laid charges after a two-week operation.
Districts 2, 4 and 6 aided the Vice Unit in the investigation, which took place between Jan. 27 and Feb. 4.
Police laid 64 Criminal Code charges against sex-trade workers and clientele, seized 25 vehicles valued at $360,000 and made arrests on nine outstanding warrants, according to officials.
The Calgary said it will continue conducting routine enforcement targeting street-level prostitution.
More information will be provided later this afternoon.
