Everyone has a “type.” Even if you don’t, there are certain celebrities and public figures that grab your eye. If you could date a man who looks like David Beckham, would you? How about a Kendall or Kylie Jenner?
Dating app Badoo introduced Badoo Lookalikes, a new feature that allows you to search (and date) any lookalike! Have a crush on your old high school chemistry teacher? Upload her yearbook picture. Secretly catching glimpses of your co-worker while you’re supposed to be working? Upload his photo and see who else with his looks is out there. You can even let Badoo pull from your Facebook friends list.
Or, if you want to pull a Hulk Hogan and date a woman who looks like your daughter… we can’t even finish that sentence. Gross. Don’t do that. Ever.
Facial recognition technology allows you to search through the names of thousands of celebrities available on the app, your Facebook friends or even upload your own picture. Badoo will then analyze your choice and pair you with familiar profiles from more than 350 million users. The feature also allows you to spark up a conversation with a doppelganger. You can then review your matches before making the first move.
If you try the site out on your computer, you will be prompted to download the app in order to chat with your Diet Justin Bieber. Also, you might want to remember your password or you’ll go bananas trying to delete your profile. (Speaking from experience, here.)
The app, much like others, allows you to see who liked you, who favorited you, who visited you and who messaged you. Boosting your profile and adding snazzy features requires a credit card, so we stayed basic.
We uploaded some photos of Mike Flynn, Sean Spicer and President Trump to see what lookalike lovers we could choose from. None of the options made our hearts a-flutter.
According to a press release from Badoo, neither Spicer nor Flynn made the lists of popular heartthrobs, but Trump did… twice!
Kim Kardashian, Emma Stone and Beyoncé topped the celebrity list for global searches. Barack Obama, NBA player Kevin Durant and actor Chris Evans were the most popular male searches while Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé and Selena Gomez topped the list of ladies.
