Casey Affleck says Ben Affleck is done as Batman

Uh-oh. Casey Affleck may have broken some news over the future of Ben Affleck’s Batman during a visit to Fenway Park this week.

The Oscar-winning actor was in Boston to throw out the first pitch at Tuesday’s Red Sox game, however, he caused a bit of a stir while chatting with a few radio hosts at the annual Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon. When asked about his big brother’s portrayal of the Dark Knight, Casey hinted that Batfleck may not return for the hero’s upcoming solo outing following this year’s “Justice League” flick.

“He’s not going to do that movie, I don’t think. Sorry,” said the 42-year-old actor before quickly backtracking his statement. “Is that breaking news? I was kind of making that up.”

As for the younger Affleck’s interest in donning a cape and cowl, don’t expect to see Casey suit up as Batman as he brushed off the notion of replacing Ben as the Caped Crusader. The actor also seemed disinterested in playing any superhero on the big screen because most of the well-known characters are already taken.

“They’re all taken,” Casey said. “Now all the superhero movies that are coming out are guys you’ve never heard of. Swamp Thing. Maybe  if they found one for me. Make the kids happy.”

Although he may have caused an uproar among comic book fans, the rest of his trip to town sounded like it went smoothly. Casey seemed right at home back in Boston and chatted with the hosts about his time as a Fenway Park employee.

“I used to work at Fenway Park and the only way I’d get to see games was sneaking in,” he revealed. “I worked outside and jump the turnstyle, watch a few innings.”
