Cashing in on mobile games

A 19-year-old Vancouver man’s plan to place advertising in mobile games has raised $250,000 from interested investors.

Brian Wong, who now lives in San Francisco, said the bulk of the money came from Phil Black, a partner at True Ventures. Black invested approximately $200,000 into Wong’s company, Kiip.

Wong added that being young and a user of the technology helped.

“I’ve turned my greatest weakness, which is my age, into my greatest strength,” he said. “It’s an enabler, youthful curiosity is fleeting and you don’t have it forever.”
