Celtics end road trip with OT win over Wizards

Losers of three straight, two coming on their three-game road trip, the Celtics snapped the losing streak and will head back to Boston on a good note after defeating the Wizards, 113-111, in overtime Wednesday night. It was the first overtime game for the team all season.

Considering the number of players sitting out due to rest or injury it was a good road win for the C's, despite having led 61-43 at the half and allowing the Wizards to get back in the game.

Gerald Wallace's full-court layup with 2.5 seconds left in the overtime period was what lifted the Celtics to the win. Jeff Green carried the team, scoring a season-high 39 points and pulling down nine rebounds. Phil Pressey had a solid game as well, finishing with 20 points

Washington was led by John Wall who recorded a triple-double, 28 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Celtics will return home Friday night (7:30, CSNNE) when they host Kevin Durant and the Thunder.

What they'll be saying: Even though the team blew another early lead, it was still an impressive win on the road playing on back-to-back nights. The team was without Rajon Rondo (rest) and Avery Bradley (sprained ankle) so they needed players like Green to step up. The win also snapped a 10-game road losing streak for the C's.
