The Celtics suffered arguably their worst regular season loss in the Kevin Garnett era Friday night as they blew a 27-point first half lead to Atlanta, losing 123-111 in double overtime at Philips Arena.
Boston led 29-10 after one quarter and it seemed as though their losing streak would halt at five games. But Kyle Korver led the Hawks’ ferocious comeback, drilling eight 3-pointers in a 27-point effort. Atlanta would go on to outscore Boston 16-4 in the second extra session.
Garnett led the Celtics with 24 points and 10 rebounds. The Celtics are now 20-23 on the season.
