Timberwolves forward Kevin Love wants out of Minnesota, as he reportedly told the T’Wolves’ front office that he has no interest in signing a contract extension and that he will leave the team next summer if he is not traded.
The Celtics immediately popped up as a possible destination for Love and Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski wrote Sunday that the C’s and Lakers would be willing to trade away “high lottery picks” in the upcoming draft in a deal that would land the 25-year-old All-Star forward.
Not only is Celtics president of basketball ops Danny Ainge in good with Love’s agent, Jeff Schwartz, but the C’s boss also has a history with Timberwolves president Flip Saunders. Saunders served as a Celtics “advisor” during the 2011-12 season.
