The Celtics (27-23) upped their win streak to seven games Sunday night, beating the Nuggets in three overtimes, 118-114, at TD Garden.

Boston was led by its elder statesmen with Kevin Garnett (20), Paul Pierce (27) and Jason Terry (26) each scoring over 20 points. Pierce had 14 rebounds and 14 assists as well in posting his second triple-double of the season.

The C’s were able to grab the win despite a phenomenal effort by Denver’s Ty Lawson, who had 29 points in loss, and came up with several clutch shots at the end of regulation and in the extra sessions.

What they’ll be saying: The victory was easily the Celtics most impressive since Rajon Rondo went down with his season-ending ACL injury two weeks ago. Terry had his best game in a Celtics uniform and finally looks comfortable in his role. The Celtics, just a half game behind Atlanta for the sixth playoff spot in the East, are in Charlotte to take on the lowly Bobcats Monday night and the win streak is likely to reach eight games.
