Celtics the beast of the East so far

Yeah, the Celtics are pretty good.

After last night’s 97-87 win over the New Orleans Hornets, the C’s are off to a 4-0 start that must be intimidating Eastern Conference opponents.

They opened the season with a 95-89 win over the loaded Cleveland Cavaliers, and followed that up with back-to-back blowouts of the Bobcats and Bulls.

What’s it all mean?

“It’s still early for us,” coach Doc Rivers said before last night’s game. “We’re going through one hell of a stretch. We start the year out with eight games in 12 days. We’re in the middle of it right now … Some teams it takes the entire season to get going by the playoffs. Some teams they come out pretty well and just build for the year. I’m hoping that’s us.”

The addition of Rasheed Wallace’s defensive skills and the return of Kevin Garnett have been the twin catalysts behind Boston’s strong start. And don’t forget about Shelden Williams, who was averaging 7.3 rebounds going into last night.
