Central Park jogger dragged into woods, beaten and robbed

A woman jogging through the northern end of Central Park was attacked by a lone mugger Monday night, police said.

The victim, 28, was jogging near East Drive at 107th Street at about 9:30 p.m. when she was grabbedfrom behind and thrown to the ground. The attacker then dragged her into a wooded area where police said he punched her, kicked her in the head and attempted to molest her.

He took her iPhone out of her pocket and ran, police said. Her phone tracker last pinged in the Bronx.

The man is described as in his 30s, with a scruffy beard and wearing a dark jacked and an orange T-shirt at the time.
