Matchday 2 of UEFA Champions League action is upon us as a Tuesday and Wednesday filled to the brim with elite European competition will keep us glued to the television set for an action-packed 90 minutes.
Tuesday features a Group H clash featuring the defending European champions Real Madrid as they face their first real test of the competition in Germany’s Borussia Dortmund.
Two weeks ago, they kicked things off with relative ease in the form of a 3-0 win over Cyprian side APOEL Nicosia. Los Blancos’ superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who is the cover athlete for FIFA 18, recorded a brace in the victory.
Dortmund is two points behind Madrid in the Group H standings after drawing Tottenham. Given the circumstances, it was a solid point to come away with considering they were visiting Spurs at the imposing Wembley Stadium.
The German side should like their chances given Madrid’s inconsistent start, especially in La Liga play. Through six matches, they are seven points behind Barcelona in the Spanish league table through six matches.
On top of that, Real Madrid has never won at Dortmund in six visits.
