Child hostage a rare case: Police

Police are calling the hostage taking of a three-year-old boy Tuesday night a rare incident.

“We may never ever see another call like this,” Const. Lindsey Houghton, a spokesman for Vancouver police, said Thursday.

The boy and his family are now recovering from the incident.

Kyle Hepworth Jackson, 24, charged with the hostage taking is being remanded for psychological assessment.
