A child inside a Red Deer duplex where a woman was murdered Wednesday morning was treated in hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries” and later released, Mounties said.
“There was a child impacted by the situation and that child is safe at this time,” said Rhonda Coubrough, a spokeswoman with Central Alberta Child and Family Services.
“We look after the safety and well-being of children and families, so obviously the situation gives the community cause for concern.”
Mounties say a woman was found dead in the duplex after making a call to 911.
It’s believed the attacker, who knew the woman, may have fled in a two door 2005 Silver Honda Civic with an Alberta licence plate marked LBE 367, Mounties said.
