BEIJING (Reuters) – China said on Wednesday it expressed grave concerns to Japan after Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Tokyo wants to take the lead among the Group of Seven nations to issue a statement about the situation in Hong Kong.

Foreign ministry spokesman Hua Chunying told reporters during a daily briefing that Hong Kong is China’s internal affairs and foreign countries do not have a right to interfere.
