Watertown’sStrip-T’s is celebrating 30 years in the biz by bringing back theiroriginal1986 menuon Jan. 13. The joint has since gone fancy—as you might recall, owner Paul Maslow’s son Tim revamped the vibein 2011,introducinghis Momofuku-honedchops to the former lunch counter — but they’re bringing back a selection of sandwiches, salads and “paper thin onion rings” at prices from the way, way back.
Think: A $3.95 blackened bluefish po’boy and $5.95 strip steak which.(What.)
Also making a triumphant return — “customer abuse” — that the elderMaslow told Boston Magazinemeans:
“‘The first waitress we ever had, on the first day we were open, she threw the pad at people and told them to write down their own order,’Paul recalls. ‘But people liked this! People came back for more, so we formally made Fridays Customer Abuse Day.'”
The promotion runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and customers should expect to pay cash only. (“Like the old days!” chirpsa release from the restaurant.) Then, from Jan. 20 to Feb. 29, weekday customers from 5 to 9 p.m. will be granted 30 percent off their food bill should they don ’80s attire, which is, in fact, hilarious.
